City Tours

Experience more of Linköping! Guided city tours conveniently take you to some of Linköping’s main attractions, such as the old town of Linköping (Monday) and the Swedish Air Force Museum (Tuesday).

A choice of two morning tours will be offered on Monday. You will be assigned to one of the tours.
We will pick you up at Linköping Konsert & Kongress at 9:00 AM and you will be back by 11:30 AM to register, have lunch, and participate in the conference.

Tour 1: Berg locks and Gamla Linköping
Short bus trip to Berg locks, Göta Canal’s biggest attraction. Here we will enjoy a guided walking tour along the series of locks that elevate or lower boats along the canal. We will then depart to Gamla (Old) Linköping Open-Air Museum, where you can travel back in time and experience what Swedish life was like in a small town and in the countryside a hundred or more years ago. We will enjoy a Swedish fika and a guided walk in the area with the opportunity to visit selected shops.

Tour 2: City walk and Gamla Linköping
Discover Linköping’s rich history on a guided walk through the charming historic castle and cathedral area and Stora Torget. A bus will take us the short distance to Gamla (Old) Linköping Open-Air Museum, where you can travel back in time and experience what Swedish life was like in a small town and in the countryside a hundred or more years ago. We will enjoy a Swedish fika and a guided walk in the area with the opportunity to visit selected shops.

Tuesday September 17

The Air Force Museum
This tour starts at the conference venue Linköping Konsert & Kongress at 1:45 pm and you will be back here at 3.15 pm in due time to catch your flight or train from Linköping. Immerse yourself with a guided tour at the Swedish Air Force Museum, a modern technical and cultural history museum tracing the development of Swedish military aviation. The museum has a unique collection of aircraft, from pioneers of the early 20th century to the present day JAS 39 Gripen.
